Got My 8 Today!
I picked up one of the 2004 close outs with factory financing ($6K+ below MSRP). It literally took all day. I had to call around and visit three dealers to finaly get one I really liked. I wanted 6 spd w/GT in green, gray or silver. Most of the GT's had the NAV, which I didn't want. I ended up with 6 spd with Touring and Appearance pkgs in green.
I might re-cover seats in leather. One dealer said he knows of a great shop that will do front and back seats, as well as door panels for ~$1000. Of course, they wont be heated, but that's OK - I live in CA. Not too cold here.
I couldn't stop grinning on the ride home from the dealer. Made four trips to the drive way to stare at it. Have read the manual cover to cover. Can't wait for tomorrow to drive it some more.

PS: My 11 year old daughter loves it and can't wait until she gets her license so SHE can drive it!

Congrats SpongeBob, I just got my Sunlight Silver RX-8 on the 9th of this month, be prepared to have sore cheeks from all the smiling, mine's still on. Make sure you break her in depending on how many miles she has if she's a new 2004.
Where in the Bay Area are you? I am in San Jose/Los Gatos here and I see you're here in Nor Cal. Maybe we could meet up and show off our 8's or something. Once again congrats and keep reading, this forum has given me a lot of insight and valuable information!
