Thumbs up Got the car back.

2 weeks and traveling in probably the most basic car I've ever been in and now the new engine is in and it's been going well so far.

Only odd thing about it is that the oil light will randomly come on when I start the car or sometimes while driving.

Checked the oil level the first time it happend and it was a little bit over the line, maybe that's what is causing the light to go off? I just shrug it off because ALL mazda "technicians" know what they're doing right?

And it's sad I have to state this, but it's only my 2nd engine

Only thing they didn't do (because I forgot to ask ) was the passenger side appearance package chupathingy isn't on all the way and looks tacky.

Well, there you have it. I'm on my 2nd engine, just thought I'd let everyone know

Does this mean I can go around the forum and rant/grunt about how terrible and unreliable the car is?

Two weeks eh? Mine is supposed to be done tomorrow, meaning only three days for the replacement but then again I kept it until they got the engine in.

Anyhow, I'm sure that you're glad to have it back and may the force be with your new engine!

Sorry to hear that Shini...how many kms/miles had it done, and did you ever take it to the track?

I'd be interested to also know what model it is.....

Just under 20k, 198XX in that area.

And I have never gotten to take it to the track yet, I've driven it hard before, but not as much as I would at the track

2004 Auto with the Sports package and appearance things.

I guess I won't worry about it then. I was hoping I wasn't the only one out there with that problem, it did it on the way to work today too.

Started up with it on, drive 20 feet it's gone, it came on randomly on the highway and as soon as it was on it was off again.

Have it checked

Don't be overwhelmed by your feeling of relief that you got your car back and it runs... I've been there. Definitely get it checked...

That sounds about right to me.

Ozzy, will do!

I was planning on taking it in again anyway since the side appearance chupathingy is half-on, or half-off depending on what way you want to view it.

Probably will be awhile before I take it in so I can arrange a time so I can take it in, and have it back within the same day.. (don't want another rental car)

An oil light coming on is not normal. Take it back and get it checked. If you aren't under warranty, you just paid a pile of cash to get this thing fixed, you have a right as a consumer to make sure it's done perfectly as humanly possible. Be polite but firm. An oil light is not normal, and they need to figure out whats causing it and take care of the issue, whatever it may be.

I'm still under warranty for another 2 months, I'll probably take it in within the next week or two.
