Goodbye 8
Well unfortunately I had to trade my vehicle last saturday, I had been using the 8 as a daily driver since October of 2006.
Really loved the car and miss it, in the end it was just too much for me financially.
I was paying an average of $1,250/month in ownership costs!
Honestly I think any sports car would be in the same ballpark so lesson learned.
But, I'm thankful I got a shot a winding out a wankel. Two wonderful years of whiny bliss! I will definitely keep the rotary in mind for future vehicular purchases.
And a big thanks to everyone on the club! Lots of helpful members and info here.
In case anyone is wondering: I'm now going to be driving a 2005 Accord coupe, 2.4L 5-speed until we both die and are buried together. Hope to be back on a future rotary forum someday!

$1250 in ownership costs?! ouch, must not have put anything down on the car, pay over $200 a month on insurance and spend about $400 on gasoline every month.
why an Accord if you don't mind me asking

Hate to hear it, I would be seriously sad to have to give up my 8.
How are you spending $1250 a month, though? I'm at about $520 a month for car payment, insurance, and gas. Maybe you need to do some work on your finances so you can keep your 8, it's not *that* much more expensive to drive than an Accord.

Right again, 4-pts on your record make for an unfriendly insurance broker.
About $300/mo for gas
So yeah, being stupid is expensive. The Accord is $400-$600 less expensive each month to own. Saved about $200 on payment, $200 on fuel, and $100 on insurance
