Yes, very good.

The market goes up and down on these ranging from 75 to 110

Much better than dealer!

That's insane. My Mazda dealer has had a replacement for mine ordered for 4 and 1/2 months!. They said it would take 2 weeks to 6 months to get it in. I guess its gonna take the full 6 months. What gives?

So you have to take the head unit apart to put that in?

I'm considering it. The one I'm waiting on will be free and installed by them, though. Thanks for the link.

So I guess the CD/changer is it's own single DIN unit that is separate from the rest of the stereo assembly?

doesnt look like it would REPLACE a single disc unit? Unless its a cover over the original with the fancy/custom look the 8 has with the dash? and its just a slot to a CD player in the back? Where do you guys typically mount your changers? I dont really use middle console for anything so was thinking of building a custom box that would fit it in perfectly. I had a cd changer back in the day which I mounted in the trunk. Made it a hassle to change disks in and out.

I bought one of those. I think they are a good deal.

I've come across a few people that did slightly better, by about $10-15 I think? Either way way better than a dealership price. Install is very easy after looking through some other threads and the Mazda TSB on removing the head unit.

Ok, I answered my own question by searching. Using this thread:

https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=36001.html

You could swap them out. Is there anything else that needs to be done? It's it just a direct swap and that's it, no programming, etc?
