Golf'n with the 8
To all RX-8 Golfers,
How do you guys find the trunk for storing let say 1 or 2 golf bags? I carry my bag on the course thus having a stand bag. It is neccessary to remove your woods to have the bag fit? since I looked at the trunk on my last visit and the width looked rather tight.
Can't put the bag in the back seat either, because of the arm rest going all the way down.

I used to not take out my driver, and it can be done, but its easier to take it out (and its kinder on the weather stripping). Keep my clubs in there 24/7 and still have plenty of room for whatever if I go shopping.

I fit two bags in the trunk the other day with no problem. I didn't have to remove the woods, and I have the spare tire. You should be OK.
At least it looks like the RX-8's trunk is "roomier" then my friend's 350Z. No offense but that Nissan trunk is a joke, mainly I think because of the sway bar right in middle.

I call my trunk the "golf space". It fits (barely) with my Big Bertha in the bag, and forget about a second one. How are people shoehorning 2/3 bags in?

Ditto on the woods. I take them out just to be on the safe side and out of habit - I had to do it with my Mustang.
I also put a large flat rubber maid container in the well area. It hold the shoes and stuff.

definitely can fit two bags. me and my buddy golf every weekend and we have maneuvering to do, but 2 bags definitely fit in my trunk. of course you might have to take ccount for the bag size and remove a club or two, but i never did and its great. as for the 350z, yes the trunk looks awkward, but hey, two bags fit easily into it, and the damn car even comes with directions how to do it.

I can easily fit my clubs and my wife's clubs in the trunk without a problem. I am only 5'7" though so my driver isn't super long. I have fit three in before but one set did not have any woods or a driver so it was not really a true estimate.

I can only get one set of clubs in the trunk and its tight, but I think it all depends on the type of bag Hard/Soft etc.
