Going to Mazda later..
Well, I am going to Mazda later to have an awful brake squeel that happens during 1-20MPH checked out and some clunking from under the hood.
Does anyone know if they will offer me a car to drive around in the meantime instead of sitting in there for hours on end? If they don't, can I ask and get one?

mazda said they usually only pay up to $35/day for a rental during warranty repair. i could maybe rent a go-kart with that.
but seriously you get a loaner? my dealership sucks ***

I've ALWAYS gotten a loaner...even on things that will only take a few hours. When your service writer asks, "Do you need a ride back?", simply answer, "no, I'll just take a rental"

Well i've been without a vehicle for 2 weeks and 1day I'm really starting to get PISSED OFF! I'm glad everyone else gets a loaner though maybe the dealer I"m at is full of A-HOLES!

If I'm having warranty work done they always provide a rental for free. If it's non warranty work, they have their own rental agency and it's about $30 per day, but there's a limit on mileage.

I've had that brake squealing problem ever since I had my brakes replaced. The dealer said it's a known quirk unless you get the most expensive of the 3 choices of brake pads. Of course, they didn't tell me that before I had the work done. It sounds like I need a brake job now.

My brake squeel is not when I press the brakes, but while driving normal.
I went to the dealer and there was nobody at all in the service department, they had all left for a class.
So much for an hour drive.

Hi Jedi,
I live in So Cal as well, haven't taken the car to the dealer yet (it's new-hopefully won't have any warranty work - knock on wood) so I was wandering which dealership you use? Would you recommend them aside from getting a loaner?
Thanks

Yep, thats the card they pulled on me yesterday, I'm only 20, so i got screwed. Oh and get this i dropped it off at 7am then went into the office until 1pm and went back up there. they hadn't even looked at it yet.

I never had a problem getting a rental in any case. Even when I was 20 they would give me a loaner. And as far as the break squeel goes good luck. I've had break squeeling from day one and I got a differant excuse every time it was in shop as to why it squeeling.

All I can say is if they offer a survey after the service is done, make sure you answer it, and put down everything that you feel is good or bad about that service department. All the Mazda dealers in the country are rated primarily based on customer satisfaction surveys. If the dealer you are going to never offers some sort of survey after the work is completed, go to a different dealer. I have already been given a loaner twice with no questions asked because the dealers I have gone to care about what the customer surveys say.
