Gettin' an A/T?? Wastin' your $$

Why would anyone ever buy an RX-8 equipped with an Auto Tranny???? Everytime I see one in a parking lot I walk up and check it out. About 1/2 of the 8's I've seen here (madison, wi) are auto.

First off, 3/4 of the fun factor of this car is the shifting at unnecessarily high revs. Love it. Secondly, why would you ever buy a sports car and take away its ***** (no offense ladies, I realizes that yours are just elevated)?

I think that the castration of the sports car needs to end. So sad......

Try driving through the 405 traffic Monday through Friday during rush hour and see how comfortable your leg will be.

The thing is, it's not a Sports car... check your insurance company.

Did you know Ferrari's have Paddle shifting... no stick?

I have money to waste, so I bought an AT RX-8. I could go out right now and buy a stick RX-8 to go along with the AT.... But I'll wait until the car has a supercharger and the US market comes with the Mazdaspeed version. I have enough money to waste and buy sports carS, so might as well waste it on an AT RX-8.

Different floats for different boats, and it is their money.

Some people have bum knees, arthritis, war injuries, hand/wrist problems, hip problems, old age... I could go on. Others live in perpetual traffic. And there is the dreaded 405.

If you're under 40 and in perfect health, you should drive a manual.

If someone drives an Auto RX-8, that's there business. Live and let die.

Yeah, it doesn't really matter...I don't disagree that I think buying an auto is a waste of money in this car, but some people just straight up hate shifting or don't want to learn to drive a manual. It's still a nice car in an auto, just easier and more accessable to drive.
