Full Rotary Circle
Ever since the 8 came out I have been obsessing over getting one. My first car was a 1980 RX-7, Silver , hand me down from my dad, it was completely stock, had the old engine choke lever, and analog clock, sunroof that you had to manually remove, basically a sweet a** ride. When my dad gave it to me, 1993, it only had 40K miles on it, he bought it brand new in 1980 for around $10,000. Come 1994, driving to school, rear ended someone and totaled the 7. I was stuck with no car until after college. About 2 years ago I bought my 2nd car, 03 Accord Coupe V6. It was a decent car, but it was auto, very heavy and after about a year, was not happy with it all. I noticed a lot of people have build issues with their 8's on this site, but it was nothing close to the 7th gen Accord problems. 6 Months ago, after I received a transmission recall for my newly purchased car, aka the rattler, I decided that was it. Now after saving some $$, and taking time to sell my accord privately, I am finally getting my 8 . I got a 04, 6spd, silver (homage to my old 7), tp & appearance package. I should have it today, just in time for Christmas and to take a road trip to the in-laws in Tyler TX for the holiday weekend. Can't wait to get the car, took a huge hit in depreciation with the accord, but I decided some times practicality is not the answer.
Just wish I was young a single again, finally got a cool car.
Thanks for reading the story, glad to be a owning member now.
Oh yeah, when my Dad comes down to visit me, he said he is going to take the car for a little spin.

Merry Christmas To You
Congratulations on your new car. Great choice of colors. Nice story about your RX-7. Bummer of an ending though. I've always wished my Dad had held on to his Austin Healey Sprite and handed it off to me.

Maybe it was you this morning in Plano/Garland I saw driving , one was pulling onto 75 heading south , near parker st , another was on Northeast highway with a passenger in the car . I went and did some shopping , and the street over from my brothers is a Black one with some chrome wheels on it . Saw 3 in a hour ! Enjoy your car and a perfect time to break it in ! I bought my in Irving in Oct , and drove it home to Amarillo , about half way home was the 600 mile mark .

Great story, SD. Man, seems like a lot of new 8 owners have jumped on the bandwagon recently. Maybe I'll be seeing more of you guys on the road. Welcome to the family! HAPPY HOLIDAYS everyone!!
