Fuel Mileage

Fuel Mileage
I know the question gets asked and many of us actually have Fuelly accounts. Lets link our accounts together so that people in the future can just click on any one of us, and have the ability to look through what we are averaging as a group. I understand that they can click the RX8 link, but some of those guys are way off, like the person who got 130mpg... I am posting my banner so we can start linking all of our fuelly accounts to each other.
Edit: Just like in the introductions of oneself, same rule applies here. Fuel logs or it didn't happen :P The logs are more accurate to a decimal as long as your being honest on your entries. This isn't a competition, its a chart of how we are doing. What the average is, and adding notes as to why would also be great. You can explain that your driving is all city, all suburban, or all long haul highway. Take note if your using 10% ethanol, 15% ethanol or pure fuel. Are you using 110, 100, 93, 91, 89, or 87 octane? Did you AutoX or Spirited drive one day? The more information the more statistically sound these stats are for us, and for others that take a peek.

Not sure what you mean by "Lets link our accounts together..." What are the specific steps to accomplish this?
I have friended you on Fuelly (I'm Surtur there and here), is that what you mean?

i should have used an app like this to permanently record my MPG back before I moved to europe and avg HWY speed became 90+mph. It would have pissed so many of you guys off. I regularly got 25-26hwy, have hit 27. and maintained 21-22 mixed.
Course with highway speeds regularly Being 145+kph(90mph) now, that doesnt happen anymore

If Surtur is right, and I have no reason to belive he is not (newbie, owned the car approx 3 weeks), I'm in allot of trouble. I've only measured one tank but got 12.4 miles per gallon. True that I've been winding it out but (I shift between 5 and 6 for "normal driving" and around 7.5 when out for some fun.
Ok, so now I will commit the newbie sin and ask, is it me or it is something I need to check or do?

I do check mine from time to time, but it's merely just to check it, like if i got an unusually high or low amount of miles per tank, and i want to see the mpg to laugh at it.

Fuel economy isn't an indicator of vehicle health. You could just have a dab of oil on your MAF sensor, for example. The engines are also hand built, there can be quite a lot of variance between them.
The guy with 130 mpg on his fuelly likely skipped a bunch of fill ups and doesn't know how to enter numbers into a webpage without messing it up.

My thanks to the guys who provided helpful answers. I had two RX7s back in the day. I do know that the Nissan dealer I bought it from appears to have overfilled the oil (cylinder mentality) and think this might have effected the plugs. I will have the oil changed and replace plugs to see if that might help or any other simple tune up type things. Otherwise, it appears that removing about two lbs of lead from my right foot might also be a good idea!!
Thanks again

It's kinda hard not to. I've noticed that I can get decent gas mileage if I try. But there's no fun in that. Besides, gas is an entertainment expense.

I've kept track of my MPG since I purchased my RX-8. I generally get about 16 mpg in city and 22-26 highway. Over the entire course of my car, I've gotten about 18-19 mpg average because of the mix of city and high miles. This is over the course of 8000 miles.
