I agree! Dude, no offense, but you'd be as bad as the salesman if you didn't know your 8 doesn't have any cylinders!

In case the dealership says anything about your CAI, the RX-8 comes stock with a Cold Air Intake system.

alright, that's a more constructive answer, thanks. now what do you think about that?
and yes i did remove the chip before bringing it to the dealer. i'm actually good buddies with the guy in service @ madza, it's only that, if he brings in an official MAZDA techiniciani'm toast, cause he might open up the engine and it may reveal that the car's ECU may even have been tampered with, hence bye bye warrantly. and i dont' even want to think of what a new coil pack would cost...

any ideas?
anyone seen this before?

coil packs arent that expensive.....and they have been known to get fried with some earlier versions of the canzoomer ecu.....it will run you a few hundred if thats the case but i would double check exactly what is wrong with your car.....it helps over here so you dont get toasted by all the flames.....i had an ecu in mine and took it out when servicing....they never noticed so if you put it back together the way it originally was i wouldnt stress it....try searching the canzoomer issues or coil pack related issues if that is what your problem is....im sorry i cant get more specific cuz im not sure what the problem is....give us more info to help you out with

Never one to miss a chance to flaunt his ignorance, he asked:

What's a "coil pack"?

Lets see, you clearly have no idea what you're doing when it comes to mods, nor do you have any clue what kind of engine the car you drive has, yet you want Mazda to foot the bill for something that was probably caused by an improperly installed mod? Yeah...

Can you please explain to me why anyone would purchase this **** when there are a couple of real tuners on this board having enough troubles modifing the stock ECU to make the car run better? This thing is a gimick and you spend 25-30k on a car just to put this **** on it, sorry but whatever this thing fried you should foot the bill for it, not Mazda.

Good luck with your "cylinders"

The unichip isn't a gimmick, TurboXS makes quality stuff, but without a proper tune and on a RX-8 you're just asking for trouble.

And of all the chip tuners out there I never hear of unichip being labeled in the same class as the leaders, so maybe it is not a gimmick but they are not 1st class.
