Forced induction owners - please post your times

I'm looking for 0-60 and 1/4th Mile times for turbocharged RX-8s. If you have a turbocharger on your RX-8, Please post. I am using it for a research project on FI and Rotaries, and this is the perfect place.

Thank you!

I don't think a ton of FI guys are hitting the drag strip. If they are, I haven't see too many times posted.

Scott @ Mazsport just posted a time slip a few days ago.

I don't think it's good for the stock transmission to be subject to hard launches using FI. If I went FI with the RX-8, I wouldn't drag until I can upgrade at least the transmission.

research project?... rx8 is one of the worst car to use. go for rx7, tons more data. i don't know what you wanna research anyway, because size of turbo, ambient temperateure, tires, skills, tuning and many other factors changes "1/4" mile times.

Most FI rx8s are using the greddy kit. Unless they up the boost, they only put out 240 whp. Swapping out the turbo, or using other turbo kits and the power levels can reach the 350-380 whp range.

ITs just the people that have the 300+whp RX8s dont like to beat them up at a drag strip, right?

If I were to get one I would get the Petit kit. It seems to pump out about 300 according to those graphs in the tech section.

But anyways thank you everyone who posted times, I need but a few more.

You might want to check with the users of the kit for their actual dyno numbers.

Also the torque is far below even the lowest output turbo kits. If you're doing drag racing, this isn't exactly the best combo.

Is there a different one you would recommend should the need ever arise? Are you satisfied with the one you have or would you get a different one given the chance?

Who is it? What whp does his car put down? If he missed a shift, has he made another pass faster than that?

If he missed a shift he should be running about a 13.4-13.5 otherwise.

You would not say that if you drove a turbo 8.

They feel totally different and so much more fun to drive.

Uhmmmm..... I would say that. Considering the other cars out there that run 13 second 1/4 miles for a few hundred bucks. So, no thanks. I'll keep my $4K and my slow and stock RX-8. I'd take a stock FD over any turbo 8.

Correction, you would save 4K and your 2 cents, as well as all your ignorance.

I hate to say it, but superglue does have a point, though I believe only to a limited extent.

If you have a stock RX-8 that can run 14.3 for example, than if you buy a turbo kit, you want it to show up in the 1/4 mile. So getting say 13.5 to high 13s out of the kit can cause people issues, well unless your stock car could never get low 14s to begin with.

An FI car running in the 12s, just makes for a better argument to get that FI kit.

Another thing is the 1/4 mile is indicative of what your kit can do in a straight line. When you start dropping 4K to 8K on a FI kit on the RX-8, it is often because you want straight line performance. We already know that the RX-8 handles great and does well on turns, so that is not the point of the FI kit. Also, dyno graphs are nice, but the 1/4 mile is a "real world" demonstration.
