I don't know how the stock footwell lights hook up, I just had some spare cathodes from a PC mod I did so I put em in there, and I knew I had that spare 12V line behind my screen from the ashtray light, so it was perfect.

 

Oh ok... but damn that does look good.. i dont know too much bout wiring or nething so i doubt i could do that myself... and i couldnt neways cause i already got the others installed... dammit.. haha

Don't mind the negativity, you will run into that alot if you stick around but I dont think anything bad was meant by it, but in any case be prepared.
As for your car being silver, do a search for the "Curse of the Silver 8" or something to that effect, you will get plenty of info on it.
As for the lights, I too thought about getting the factory footwell lights, just have not gotten around to it.

On a side note, I respect the fact that you can appreciate the fact that your dad works hard and buys nice things Repay him by being an adult. Don't rice out your 8. Don't give into temptation and street race (at least dangerously.) If you like speed, then there is also a lot of info on these forums for local meets and races.

Yeah, the footwell lights would be cool if they were on all the time, but here's the thing—for the best driving, you really want the interior of the car to be as dark as possible—ideally there'd be no lights at all—not even instrument lights (that's why there's an instrument light dimmer control—to make them as dim as possible while still being legible). The brighter the interior lighting, the smaller your pupils get… the smaller your pupils get, the worse your night vision is. That's just the way it is.

But… whatever.

I gotta say that last night was probably one of the crappiest days of my life and it's nice to know that somewhere on this site I can find a good laugh in the morning.

One a related note I was eventually going to put the footwell lights in but wanted to put them on a separate switch. Ideally I'd like to hook them up to the fog light switch since I just had my buddy club bumper installed and now I have no fog lights.
