flickering LED screen diagnosis

I seem to have very strange case where my LED screen on my Rx8 started flickering and now is pretty much black. I have an extended warrenty on my Rx8 through Ford.

The problem comes when the dealership tried to diagnose the problem and their mazda hotline told them that there might be one of three problems, the screen, the plate, the module, or any combination. They call up the warrenty company and they tell the dealership that they would pay for any broken part as long as it can be proven that the part is the cause.

From what Mazda told the dealership, the only way to figure out which one component is the problem they needed to hotswap the parts, which the dealership doesn't have any. They can't order any of the parts because the warrenty won't pay for it unless it has been proven that the part is defective.

As you can see, now i am stuck in a loop, can't diagnose what's wrong with it because they don't have the parts because the warrenty won't pay for it because it isn't diagnosed.

I am looking for any suggestions on where i can go from here because honestly i have no clue what to do about this. Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks

Why can't Ford fix it? You bought the car thru them with warranty on hand, they should fix it under the warranty clause. They are running you in circles, i just don't understand why you have warranty thru Ford and they don't want to fix or replace the defective led screen? Why get a warranty then...

I just fix my issue like this. I removed the radio and discovered the face plate was broken where it screws in. Super glued the piece back and screwed the face plate back on. Everything has been working great since.

I honestly didn't realize i was getting a ford warranty when i bought it because i bought it from a Ford-Mazda dealership in AZ. I am now in NH so can't take it back to the same dealership that i bought the warranty from now.

I talked to them over the phone and they flat out told me, they would pay for anything that was broken if the dealership could tell them which component was the broken piece. But the dealership can't find out which part is broke because Mazda told them to diagnose this problem they would have to hot-swap out parts, which they don't have any because they don't have any S1s on the lot.

They told me to find someone who was willing to swap parts with me, be it a dealership that has an S1 or someone who owns an S1, and test that way.

@1.3_LittersOfFurry regarding the faceplate, can i check to see if it is broken without dismantling the radio? It would void my warranty if i do.

My screen was doing this a while back. All I did was unplug the battery for a minute. And its working fine ever since.
