thats why i laugh at all the ricers with low profile tires on the rx-8. You all need to get a lift kit and 26" tires like me. Never had to worry about curbs or potholes.

damn! im sorry man. you may not have to order new rims. there are shops that can fix rims that are bent. however it may just be easier to replace them. i dont know how much they were.

yeah I know there is a few arund that fix them but one DEFINATELY has to be replaced because it's starting to crack..the other is not bad but will give a real nice vibration so prob just replace them both they were 200 a piece when i bought them but now they are 130 for the silver, black, gunmetal and chrome are not on the website where I got them from so i'm pretty sure they are special order(they were when i orderd them last march) so they might b more but wont know till tomorrow...if they happen to be discontined I'll have to try and figure what different wheels I want? But I'll worry about that then!

That pot hole looks like a huge foot print. Are you going to get new wheels altogether or get replacements for what you have?

can't you file a claim to have the county / city pay for the wheels? Even here in California you can do that if it's a pothole in the road that caused damage to your vehicle.

sorry to hear about the car.

i would explore that option, jedi may be on to something. i know that if you jump thru all the hoops here in my town, they will pay to have your tire replaced if you get a nail from their highway construction

If going to try to make the city pay for the repairs, i would go take a picture of the pothole, like you have done, but with a ruler in the hole to show how deep it is.

You may not have bent rims.

Just broke the seal on the tire.

Good Luck

well I have filed a complaint with the city they are sending me a claims form to start the paperwork...they def are bent I've had them both off they are bent so bad that i can't get them to hold air and can t get them back to where they will.....

For the bad news those wheels I have now are discontinued(still checking to make sure there are none anywhere) so it looks like I will have to pay for a whole new set(except they state/city may pay for 2 of them!)

Now what do you all think I should go with if I get a whole new set...I like those wheels alot what a bout the same wheels with a glossy black and chrome lip??? Good bad too common open to any comments.

Very sorry to hear that 04', bent a few rims on potholes myself over the years. Some just can't be seen or avoided.

I tried to legally contest one and even tho' in a habitually recurring area, the city's attorney basically gave me the 'act of god' defense.

So I guess the thread title would be the polar opposite of the song "On the Road Again?"
