By the way, the Speedsource RX8 does not have flat black paint. THe whole car is covered in a flat black vinyl.

that flat black looks good. very post-modern. if i ever need a repaint i'll consider it...

i wonder what flat red looks like. doubt it looks as nice.

no there isnt. they both mean of little or no contrast in the paint. no glossiness.

I am a fan of the flat black, depending on the car a mix design of flat and gloss black look sweet...but with the SS 8 I think the designs and stickers are what make it look so good.

...and I never realized it before, but flat black can actually look pretty good. Weird. I guess I'm just used to seeing all the "flat black" (primer) Civics around here.

i agree with you there, i made fun of their SUV also lol, looks so ugly imo on an SUV. but that first car witht the flat black (one w/ gold rims) looks good minus the huge spoiler, weird side marker, and the gold rims. looks really sharp as someone else has said.

actually AL there is a difference. Flat black is just that- FLAT. no gloss at all. up until recently it was done with no clear coats. Matte/Satin/Suede Black (or any color) are actually done with a semi-gloss clear coat.

of course someone will disagree but thats how i think of them
