flashy or not?

i was just wondering what you guys think... i am only 16 and got an RX8 for my bday. i have like the GT package with a spoiler and stuff... i hvae a new 2004 with yellow and black stripes and was wondering if its like a spoiled bitch thing or just a good car for me. i have been interested in cars forever and i enjoy being more careful with the car because of the rotary engine because that gives me a good feel for a sports car and so does the actual ride...so flashy or not?

The car certainly gets noticed, especially in brighter colors like red and yellow. It looks great just the way it comes.

I'm not sure what you mean by black stripes, though.

I think you may have a bit of a ticket problem on your hands. Cops love to pull over teens. They love to pull over teens in sports cars. They especially love to pull over teens in bright sports cars...I can't tell you how many times I was followed home, tailgated and otherwise harassed by police when I was 17 driving my IS300 around. They were ALL over me and as a result, I got the only two tickets on my record in that car (even though I drove the IS much slower than I did my first car). You're gonna have to watch your back and drive it pretty easy, they'll be watching you.

I'd have to see a pic of it, but yeah, I think that would be a little flashier than the average RX-8, which is already and attention getter even in dark colors. So like Rhawb said, watch the cops and speed traps.

The question was, "Is it a spoiled bitch thing?"
The answer is absolutely yes.
Anyone who gets a 16th birthday present that costs $30,000 is, by definition, spoiled. Rotten.

Enjoy the car, and please be careful. Unless mommy and daddy also paid for a performance driving school for you, I give you and your car 6 months to one year before you collide with something else at high speed.

Take the time to learn about what your car needs and what it takes to be a good driver. By the way, "Good" does not necessarily mean "fast".

You must not speak Sixteenese.

I'll translate:

i have like the GT package
In Sixteenese, "like" is used merely for timing or emphasis.

with a spoiler and stuff...
Speakers of Sixteenese use "stuff" a noun, not a verb.

i hvae a new 2004 with yellow and black stripes and was wondering if its like a spoiled bitch thing or just a good car for me.
Does having an RX-8 when you're sixteen make you look like a spoiled bitch or is it OK?
(At sixteen, I rode the bus, so I withhold comment.)

i have been interested in cars forever and i enjoy being more careful with the car because of the rotary engine
He's actually going to take care of it.

because that gives me a good feel for a sports car and so does the actual ride.
Okay, my Sixteenese must be a bit rusty for this one.

Don't be a hater morgan. Some people are perfectly fine getting behind the wheel of a car like this at his age. I was behind the wheel of cars with 2-3 times the power of the 8 at his age. The only thing we know about him is he speaks sixteenese very well, he could very well be a very responsible person.

Good translation No More Olds, I now understand.

Kiddo ... make sure you pay your parental units back in the future. Buy them a nice vacation to Hawaii or a nice retirement home.

As to the skunk strip ... why did the dealer do it? Is Vin Diesel a salesman working for Mazda now? Tell them to take it off and give you something else for free (oil changes, strakes, accents, etc)

There was a fellow that had a black 8 with a white strip (ala Viper) ... it's McNasty.

i think racing stripes belong in american cars... not japanese cars. Our 8 is anything but a drag car... congrats on your car... i got my eight when i was 17.5. You know your going to get pulled over a billion times, and it sure sounds like you dont know anything about cars, but if you say you do... oh well enjoy dont crash

Have fun and enjoy it. Take good care of it, drive carefully. Don't listen to some of your friends who will encourage you to do stupid things. You have had good fortune getting this car at your age. This is an adult car, so act like an adult with it.

Good luck.

16 year olds shouldn't be allowed to drive a car like this.

With most members, I agree that getting this car handed to you when you turn 16 most definitely makes you spoiled.

But it was a gift, and as with any other gift, you simply smile, say thank you, and enjoy it! :D

Welcome to the club!!!!!!
