First real RX8 in Britain/www.formulawoman.com
Hi All
Went to the Autosport show today in Birmingham, England today (on trade day ) to find not only the first RX-8 ever seen in Britain it apparently landed from Japan last night but also lucky to be at the launch of a new one make series for the RX-8 for woman that will form both a TV series and a competition to find the 16 woman that will take part see www.formulawoman.com or www.mazda.co.uk. the motorsport body in Britain hope that from this it will encourage more woman to be actively involved in motorsport as they used to be at Brooklands in the 1920s and 1930s.
l was also lucky enough to be taken by a Mazda employee to an out building to see the Montego blue car in the flesh to have a good look in the dark! under condition l took NO pics, looks lower than the toy one l have become accustomed to seeing, it now has silver and not chrome wheels but at least the style of wheel is still the same it now has side repeater on the front radius of the arch where the bumper joins the wing, fortunately most of the Rotary symbols seem intact in the interior but the tail lights have lost their Rotary recognition.
l now also now know that only the higher horse power manual model will come to Europe with the auto model only available in the USA and as of today you can apparently place your full order plus £1000 for your new RX-8.
All the Best Clive

Each car and driver will be fully sponsored and a substantial prize fund will also be announced in Spring 2003.
