Just making sure, haha.

Prepare to deal with a lot of people who just don't get it. Just remember, when asked how many cylinders, you say 0.

And yeah, it's best to check with them anyway. But I have a feeling your 8 year would have just expired. But perhaps you can negotiate additional warranties for it, they were willing to with mine.

I've already learned an incredible amount from this site so far. After I save up some money (I just had to write the $800 check to the state for tax/title/licensing) I'm going to replace the coils, plugs, and wires just to make sure since I've no idea when they were last replaced and the car is kinda high mileage (92k).

I drove my old Stratus R/T today (kept it to give to my brother when he turns 16 in Nov) and couldn't believe how awful it felt to drive. The steering felt loose, I knew I needed new struts and motor mounts in it, but OMG. The turning radius is nowhere near as good and obviously it doesn't go half as fast. If I had to go back to that thing I think I'd cry.

NOOO do NOT by tints from walmart!! Tell your brother he is a fool. If you attempt to tint the windows yourself and you are anything but a skilled professional at tinting, it will look HORRIBLE!! It will be very bubbly, and un-even. I took mine to a shop out in cedar rapids. It was about $200 and it comes with a life time guarentee/warranty against fading, scratching, bubbling etc. If you want the name I can find it for you. The only thing I can stress is that you do not do it by yourself. Save the trouble and pay to have it done.

I'd love the name of the shop. I'll do some checking locally but I doubt there's anything too great here.

Here is the place I went to.

http://www.advancedtintingia.com/

They have been in the business for a long time and they back there product up with a lifetime guarentee/warranty. So if anything goes wrong they will fix it for free. Now most places do this too if theey arent a shady shop, but you want to make sure any where you go to will warranty their work. They were very helpful in choosing what I wanted and they have a little booklet of the samples of tint they have so you can actually see it first hand. Its a bit of a drive for you, but I will most likely be bringing my car there again to get my rx8 tinted.

If you dont mind I will post a picture of my lancer so you get an idea of what (35% - front...15% back) looks like.

There is a place in coralville, which is JUST outside the university, that does tints also. It is a nice shop and they do alot of other work on cars too but I have never gone there so I cant give any feedback on them. I did call once to make an appointment and they were booked all day so they cant be bad im assuming. I think they only do tints on tuesdays? Anyways, here is there link.

http://www.autoyz.com/index.html

Hope I helped!

That's fantastic info. After I replace the coils/plugs, I'll put that on my to-do list.
