Finally got a RX-8!

Saying hello and sharing my news,
Two weeks ago I traded in my car and got a 2004 RX-8 6MT, winning blue. A couple weeks before that I found this forum and have been reading since. Thought I should say thanks to the other members because the posts here definately gave me a little nudge to get serious about getting one.

I do have one question, yes I know about the search button, no I didn't use it for this yet...but it isn't too technical...

Is it normal for this forum to start consuming the little free time that I have?

thanks, I was glad to find it with the touring package, it had my first choice of color and options, only things missing that I wanted...well from the factory at least ...were the rotary accents, which I took care of Tuesday.

Nice, congrats on the purchase. And yes, this forum is very addictive, especially if you have free time at work.

Yes and no!
I'm a project mgr for a market research company ... which means i spend a good part of the year behind a one-way mirror in the dark.
Yes ... when you see a mirror someplace, someone is probably watching you!
When I'm not holding client's hands, I can sit in the back row and get some quality posting done.

I am assuming you mean which car I traded in, but I feel like listing them all. they each kinda help me move to the 8 in there own way.
sorry for the long post.

First vehicle was a 1987 Chevy Custom Deluxe (full size pickup) which I loved completely but after highschool I decided I wanted to move to a car. This truck was important though, as it is the vehicle that made me love RWD vehicles, especially in winter. I like the way they handle far better than front wheel drive.

So I got into a 2000 Grand Prix GT, which I had that for about a year before I wanted a little more power and something sportier. I also wanted something brand new and a little less common. I had wanted the RX-8 since I heard about it when I was in HS but still didn't think I had the money for it.

So in March I bought a 2006 G6 GTP Coupe. Second choice car next to the 8, along with a great deal since I got it from the same dealer that I got my Grand Prix from. I loved that also, but I got an automatic and really wanted the 6spd. After doing some research and looking for 6spd models for a trade I found on some forums that the 6MT Sucks in the G6 and Pontiac isn't doing anything about it, that was also the time that I saw used RX-8 prices dropped to about what I paid for my car. So I found you guys to see any potential problems and the ones that I found I figured I could live with. Plus the rwd and rotary really had my attention for a long time.

Found a good deal on a '04 with everything I wanted, only 400 more miles that I put on my car, and due to in service date, a longer warranty from the factory than what I had on my brand new G6.

Since I said I liked the 8 when in HS, I don't want you to think I am some young guy with parents that pay for everything for me, as I have seen a couple of those on here and they **** me off when they are snobbing about it. I am 20, I work full time, go to school at night, and pay for everything except for living in my parents house.

Just wanted to get that out there early on. I know some of the elders here have issues with the cocky youngin's and I don't want to be part of that group.

Welcome to both of you then. Time Consumption: Well, I'm checking the site and posting after getting home at 2:27am whereas a normal person would just crash. So yes, time consuming but with great info.
