Finally got it back

After 28 days in the shop this time, I finally got my 8 back at lunch. New motor, new clutch, basically everything else new - all under warranty - it is like driving a brand new car again. I must admit I am having to get use to it again since it has been almost a month.

Sure am glad to have it back

Bob

Well they said not to get it over 7K RPM for an extended period of time during the first 1000 miles but otherwise drive it like I stole it after that

I seem to remember them saying not to take it over 4k for the first 1000 miles and also not to keep it at the same RPM for too long

It is hard to drive an 8 without getting it over 4K RPM

You've been without that long? Mine has been at the dealer for 2 days because they're waiting on some gaskets to install in order to keep the tailamps from condensation. I'm dying! The dealer set me up with a Ford Taurus to drive in the meantime. I feel like such a middle class father of 2.3 kids. I don't even have children! Embarassing to say the least.

glad to hear your car is back. What was wrong with your 8 to get all that stuff replaced?

The service and parts manager I worked with told me to "drive it like you stole it" from mile 1

Enjoy it BUT break it in first...don't make that mistake.

Congrats on the homecoming though. Always an exciting time!
