A Few Questions

New to the Forums... been reading like hell on em these past few days...

So here it goes.. im about to purchase an RX-8... now I have 2 choices..

a 2007 AT or a 2006 ST.

First question...
Have these cars have had any problems with the AT Trans?
I dont race.. i know its has less HP, St is better blah blah etc etc... but I've had some people
tell me that the rx-8's AT trans could give me problems in the future...
any thing ya can say about this?

2nd-
The 2006 one (my favorite atm) has only 13,000 miles on it...
I find it a bit odd.. and I noticed the vendor a bit... hm... twitchy about the car...
I did test drive it and ohh man it was a dream... my question...
You guys ever heard anything on people messing with the millage on rx-8's?
Like I said.. it has only 13,000 miles on it and I find it very odd...
speacially here in Puerto Rico where people tend to.. umm.. kill cars.. hehe

Thank you.

Check car fax or any other records (repair history), and see if the mileage corresponds.

ST? Nvm standard Transmission.... Anyway use carfax and go to the dealer to see if the car needs any updates and stuff.
The 06/\ At's are much better than the 04 versions as the newer ones have a 6 speed transmission.

Seriously just try them both out, see what you prefer... some like autos, because they mostly cruise around, and many like Manuals because sports cars are made to be manual

i dunno if it's odd. my 07 has 14k on it. i drive a pretty good bit. maybe it's a second car.

but get it checked out to make sure the odometer is accurate. and go with the manual transmission. more power.

My '06 has 8k miles, and definitely go with the standard tranny. You couldn't give me an automatic transmission 8.

I think i got yall beat , my 04 had 15k miles. Are you buying the auto because you cant find a good manual trans? Or maybe you dont know how to drive yet?
