Does anybody know how many RX8 a day they produce. Beside the initial article about producing the first car, I havn't seen any more reports on how well the production is going.

 

Take 365 Divied by 60,000 and thats how many Mazda will produce in one year. which comes to 164.38365
which comes to 6.83333 an hour. Some impressive #'s and shows how much automation has cut down on time it took Ford about 3 hours just to make a 1964 1/2 Mustang in 64 most of that by Human means.

 

Production numbers:
One article said that 12,000 first year and ramp up to 30,000 the second year. The 60,000 is down the road.

 

Actually they said 18,000 is their target for the first year with 30,000 per year thereafter. Haven't seen anything mentioning 60,000. That's a lot of RX-8s to make and sell per year! I don't ever see it being that high given the target market for the RX-8, but I could be wrong.

 

I'm not talking NA numbers but total production at Hiroshima a year is 60,000 for world wide destribution. Or right around there.

 

Ah...ok...that makes more sense....
