I'm not sure if this was a national event or not but just through the end of February, Mazda is extending it's powertrain warranty to 10 yr/100K. I just bought my "baby" today (Sunlight Silver/Red & Black) at a dealership in Cary, NC.

If it is a national event, then somehow Mazda decided to keep it as secret as possible - wtf? it was probably local.

 

In local advertising here the deal extends to all Mazdas EXCEPT the RX-8.

 

I bought my RX-8 in November. My dealership said that Mazda had given them the authority to upgrade the RX-8 powertrain warranty to 10yr/100,000 because other makes were doing it and also Mazda thought this might start more interest in the rotory engine. This upgrade was free of charge. My understanding at that time not all dealerships had the authority from Mazda.

I have a Velocity Red MC GT package. Been extremely pleased with car and what a pleasure to drive.

 

Did you get this warranty upgrade in writing?

 

My dealership provides 10/100 powertrain warranty on all their vehicles at no extra cost. Guess it's not an added bonus anymore, huh?

 

Yes, I have the paperwork in my glove compartment.
