I believe you'd find that most exhaust upgrades would yield very minimal gains. Despite what the companies claim, I think that you'd get at most 2HP or so. Racing Beat mentioned that Mazda did a good job in getting the most out of the exhaust. I think you'd better go based on what kind of sound and appearance you're looking for. Personally, I like Racing Beat system as it's not terribly loud, ok priced and gives about 2HP (hardly noticiable by the butt dyno).

I think you should do a search on the different systems out there to get a better idea of what you're getting into.

I agree. Go search for some sound clips of different exhausts and see which one sounds best to you. Power gains should not be a deciding factor (in fact, I read somewhere on this board that some aftermarket exhausts, like the RB exhaust, actually weigh more than the stock exhaust, so you may not be getting any gains at all in terms of weight/power ratio). Bu that being said, I would go with Racing Beat because it isn't too loud and the tips look nice and beefy.

I agree. Not a power upgrade but a sound upgrade. I chose Racing Beat. Nice sound, not too loud and good looking. The stock muffler looks like an old water heater.

5zigen don't make exhausts for da rx8. Rb is a good choice, but it weighs a little more than the stock one. Other than that its a real nice exhaust with a nice note to it, esp with a hi flo cat.

Racing Beat all the way. Nice aggresive sound when you want it, but quiet enough when cruising to be tolerable for long periods of time.

I personally liked the sound of the fujitsubo legalis r. Only problem is I have no idea where to find it. I found one on ebay but im always skeptical of ordering expensive stuff from there. Anyone with that exhaust know where I can purchase?
