Engine warranty approval- Mazda or dealership?
Anyone know,. who gives approval for a new engine under warranty extension program? Is it the Service Manager at the dealership, or does the dealership contact someone at Mazda for the approval and if so does the dealership have to submit certain paperwork?

it depends on the dealership . most have to get approval from mazda but some are able to self authorize.

Follow up.

So does the dealership have to send copies of your maintence records to Mazda or anything like that?

Depends on the dealer also, I took my car in and the dealer ran the test I ended up needing a reman and never got asked for any records the whole time. Im picking the car up tomorrow.
