I drove home from college today (about a 45 minute ride) and since the weather is post-yucky, I got road schmuck all over my white car. So I parked in the driveway, turned it off and rinsed it off the best I could. Then I turn the car back on, revved it a bit (worrying about the engine flooding), drove into my garage, revved it some more and turned it off. When I got out there was a little bit of smoke coming from the engine. It didn't smell like gasoline or coolant or anything, just smelled like... engine. It went away after about 3 minutes and it was only a tiny bit. Do you think I just got a bit of water inside from hosing it off?

 

Where was the smoke coming out of specifically? Front of hood? By windshield? sides?

 

Sounds like steam.......would be understandable if you got the engine wet. If you sprayed out the passenger side wheel well.......the exaust manifold would have gotten wet.....

 

Condensation.

 

It was coming out from under the front of the hood.

Yes, its either steam (from water dripping onto the engine) or condensation. What was the temperature when this happened?

It was probally just the nitrous pressure relief valve venting some extra pressure or something like that.

 

Purge lol
