Engine Off And the Fan Runs????
Is there a cooling fan in the engine after you turn of the rx8?
Yesterday evening when I got home I parked the rx8 in the garage and turned off the engine. After about 10 seconds, a fan automatically turned itself on under the hood and stayed running for approximately 5 minutes and then turned off automatically.
Anyone know what this means? I'm sure Mazda designed it that way.
By the way, I did not have my air conditioner running last night when I came home.

Almost all cars do this. Be glad your fan is working correctly!
My FD's fan doesn't work well after turning the car off (many FD's have this problem) and I would have to keep the key in the "acc" position to keep the fans running for a while after shutting the car off. I would also open my hood to help the motor cool easier and faster.

i think tat's super cool. cuz i thought is a turbo timer when i just notice the fan is running.(and i know 8 is NA so i confuse. ha ha.)

If you've been driving it hard you ought to take it easy the last couple of miles home to get things cooling whilst the coolant and the oil are still been pumped around and air is still passing the rad... otherwise you can get uneven cooling which equals uneven contraction which equals trouble!
Especially applies if you've been on the brakes a lot - improper cooling equals warped discs (and obviously the engine fan doesn't help with that...)
This applies more to turbo cars (in fact is VITAL for turbo cars) but I treat the 8 the same way - it's so fussy about warming up it seems to me it must be the same cooling down. So for the last 3/4 miles I drive it as if it's not warm yet. (Luckily in my case either direction up the main road past my house is cruise-at-50mph territory.)

Actually, I drive the rx8 like its not even a sports car. I've never taken my rx8 to the limit. My speeds are minimum 55 and maximum 72 Miles Per Hour.
Should I push it once in a while?

You don't have to drive it at high -velocity- to have fun...
I drove in within speed limits today (it was wet). It's how quick you can deal with on-ramps / off-ramps that's the challenge. Remember this badboy will go well over 60mph in 2nd...
The Mazda figure for 0-60 is 7.something isn't it? I just don't believe that - it's more like low sixes IMHO.

Magazines have quoted anywhere between 5.9 and 6.2 on official tests- take your pick
