yes...it needs to stay on. If you take it off, you will blow your engine. I know, I did it twice!

word??? coz i can't use my engine cover now coz my strut bar is too big for the outlets... and i've been doin this for the last 4 mos. now... and can't see any difference in the car's performance.....
