Question Engine block number

I want to know if my '8 has had it's engine swapped at some point, so I'm looking for the engline block number on the engine and I can't find it. I tried googling it and that didn't help either. Where is the engine block number? ._.

Never considered the question to be honest but I'm betting that, considering a rotary doesn't have a "block" (singular), I seriously doubt that the housings would have any identifying number. Call Mazda North America and with the vin they'll be able to at least tell you if it was replaced under warranty. That's a start.

i'm not 100% sure the Renesis is in the same place, but the older engines are on the top of the front iron, kind of between the alternator and the ignition coils.

the number will NOT match the vin

Which was my point. There's no number on the irons that tie them to the car. Again. Start with MNAO (if you're in North America, and see if they have a warranty record of engine replacement.

Thanks for the advise! I did call them and they said that there is no record of the engine being swapped through them. So this is now quite scary.

Thank you sir! I saw where you told me to look and I just see a Mazda engraving and a 13B engraving as well. No number other than the 13 B. O.o

the number is right at the iron, it's on a piece of metal plate that has the MAZDA logo on top.

don't knoe if it's possible to see that plate when the engine is in car (or at least with everything else on top)
