I just recently purchased a '04 RX-8 and am looking at putting in a EMC unit. Well actually a whole lot more than that but that's just what I've been recommended to start with, well that and a Cool Air Intake, but those aren't hard to find. Anyways if there's anyone who can tell me of an EMC that would work well with the RX-8 that would be great! Thanks.

 

EMC is not an acronym i know. what is an EMC?

If an "engine management computer" is what he/she is referring to, then she/he is crazy for making it sound like a bolt-on part thats just a slight more important than a "cool air intake"....

 

haha - "cool" air intake...never heard it referred to like that before.

Okay, so I dunno if it's an ECU unit or a EMC, I mean all I really give a fly about is increasing horse power in my RX-8 and I was told that a good place to start was with one of the above units, and a cool air intake.

actually the best mod out there for the 8 that promises pretty decent gains is the cz unit. go to vendors and go to canzoomers place for details. its a great mod imho.

 

Yeah, that may be, but my engine still needs to set in before a put the heavy duty stuff in. I think I might get K&N Typhoon air intake. Just to start out with of course. Other than that though, it sounds like all the other goodies for the '04's aren't gonna be coming out till late Nov. Oh well.
