Thumbs down Electrical Problems?

Every so often a couple of lights on my dash come on "ABS" and that anti-slip/traction light. These seem to happen at the same time that my brake lights fail. Anyone had this issue? The last time I had to take it in to be fixed and I get the feeling that even the service people really dont know whats going on. I'm getting really sick of this recurring problem

How do you know your brake lights fail?

Those warning lights are suppose to come on when you drive too fast.

Luckly people have come to me to inform me my brake lights are not working. Seems always to correspond to when those two warning lights are on.

A fuse or short that takes out both circuits and the lights?

Do you have an LED in your third brake light?

There have been check engine lights caused by them unless the load resistor is added to that light.

What are you doing in the video when the lights are going on?

It looks like you are turning the steering wheel and it is acting up.

That is what happens when a positive wire is grounding out.

Correct... The positive cable was super corroded. I used a terminal cleaner and cleaned both terminals and tightened down. This morning the car seemed to act better.

I was sitting still in a parking lot. Does not matter if I have air on , heated seats or lights on the crazyness still happened. Going home that evening I couldnt get it to stop. Then it stops and while sitting steal at a red light a big pop sound happened and everything turned off and on but the engine. From past experience the pop sounded like a spark from a battery I checked when I got home and cleaned terminals. I still wnat to bring it to a dealership for diagnostics and checkup.

Ahhh yes, I used battery terminal protectant on mine and had no connection once.

The protectant spray is non-conductive I found out.

Low power or a bad connection can be tough on electrical equipment. Hope everything is okay.
