dsc??

Ok so i was reading the drag racing post on here and someone said someting about make sure to fully turn off your dsc by holding it in. So my question is what does it turn off by pressing it once, and then what extra does it do when you turn it all the way off by holding it? When i drag race i just hit it once but i never new you could hold it down to shut it off more? Is this going to help me more some how? with it off i can burn the tires and slide sideways, so what more does it do by holding it down?

thanks

press it once it turns off traction control

holding it for 7 seconds turns off dynamic stability control.

dsc COULD interfere, because it has the ability to clamp down on individual brake rotors. its just better to turn it off.

What does Traction Control actually do? I know that turning it off causes me to smash my car up, but when it's on, how does it work? I've felt it kick in but I don't know what it's doing mechanically.

if you mess up bad enough it will cut power to the wheels so that you re-gain traction.

How can it cut power to an individual wheel? Something in the differential?

It can cut power in general or activate each brake individually to control the car if it senses instability.

The 7 sec push thing will do nothing for your 1/4 mile time . Myth

There is some debate about whether it actually does anything at all different from the single push . Some say at 10/10ths on the track under hard cornering with the one push they still get some interferance from DSC . I have never felt it - maybe I'm too slow
