Driving without a splash shield in the rain

hey guys just a quick question, I'm missing the left hand side of my splash shield leaving the oil cooler exposed, I'll be driving my car out to bakersfield this monday and its said that there will be a chance of rain, would it do any harm to the oil cooler if theres water constantly splashing onto it?

i tried searching a few times but didnt get any results

I would be more afraid of stones damaging the cooler and oil lines

Mine has been missing for a few months with no issue. I spoke to my friends who drive a porsche and he said that his oil coolers are exposed so I decided not too worry about it.

I don't have an under tray or splash shields for the oil coolers. Been that way for over a year now and between texas heat and my 1700 mile road trip from DFW to Sacramento CA, I'd say that you'd be fine.

I don't think it will harm your oil cooler. I'll be worried if other debris gets into it though.

no. your wrong.

the only difference I notice is when I'm driving hard in the rain and my car looks like a dragon because of the steam rolling off of the coolers. I monitor my oil temps and there is no change.
