Drivability issues after topping off oil?
Yesterday afternoon my car was running a tad rough. I had the oil changed last tue. at the dealership. So i figured the oil was a bit low. I checked when i got home, and low and behold it was a notch above the L line.
I bought a case of oil from the dealership, the mazda 5w20 oil the 8 uses, figured why not for 24$. So i opened one up, and put some in, checked level, put somemore in until it was 3/4 to the top line. Put the oil lid back on, and left for the girlfriends. I noticed alot of bogging in lower rpms, and not a smooth rev to redline anymore. it feels like the car is fighting me past 6K rpms. Whats going on?
How high should you fill the oil on the stick?
What could be going on?
Anyone else have this happen?
I have the M flash btw. thanks

I just filled up this AM with exxon 91, still feels the same. grr

This thing has so many little things wrong. This drivibility issue, and then the crazy sounds from the suspension, during low speed turning an going over bumps...
I didnt get a hold of James From Krazy RPM, but I talked to another Rotary head and he was saying it is possably timing, My advice is... The car is under Warranty have the dealership check it. I will call james again and see what he thinks. Here is the number to his shop if you want direct advice 760 949 4424

does it matter that i drove about 400 miles in that one week?
reddragonmd, I can't help with your main problem, sorry, but you just wrote:
There's a TSB for this. If you haven't had it done, check the TSB list stickied at the top of the Tech Forum.

I talked to James, he said if you were Driving on low oil for a while the Bearings (Engine injects oil in the Bearings) in the rotors are damaged, thats a warrenty issue since mazda did not refill the oil, They probably gonna have to replace the whole engine if thats the case.
Coming thru in waves...

How about this - are you pushing the dipstick all the way into its tube? If not, maybe the level was correct to start with, now it's way-overfilled. ?!?
I know, it sounds farfetched, but hey...

Ya, check the 8 into the dealership and see what they say. We are all interested in seeing whats going on, and if it is time for a new engine. Wow, a whole new engine with no cost to you would be nice :D as long as you dont get to many hassles
hopefully not though!!!!!!!!
