Your last post suggests that your heading in the right direction. While it's not the most beastly car in a straight line, but my buddy in his wrx couldn't keep up in the canyon twisties despite having almost twice the amount of torque. And coilovers and strut braces and sway bars. He's driven my car a couple of times and says now his handling is as good as mine when I was stock.
It's a trade off but in the end I think the 8 is a much more capable handler and funner to drive. Just try an autocross and you won't be able to stop smiling.

I test drove another 8 today and today I payed more attention to the feel of the engine, and I must say I'm impressed I think it gets moving just fine. I'm coming from a stock 240SX so the 8 will be faster and I guess thats all I need. I'm sure it will be even better with a complete exhaust job, intake, and better ignition.
Don't expect too much from better breathing alone. Most people only get single-digit HP increases, by changing both the intake and exhaust. Think of breathing mods as mostly an auditory aesthetic exercise.
