Question Door sill plates

Those who bought the aluminum door sill plates: how are they attached? Do they use some double-sided tape?

Also, what's your opinion - is it worth getting them? How scratch-proof are they?
I'd like something nicer than the plastic ones and definitely don't want carbon fiber sills that you can get on eBay.

Thanks.

Good question, don't know as I don't have 'em. But I've read that the stock ones are attached with double sided tape, so I'd assume that the aluminum ones will too. Don't know if it simply goes over the stock one or if it replaces it. From past experience with other aluminum door sills, I bet it scatches pretty easy.

But in my IMO, I like the stock one better. The aluminum one from the accessories catalog just doesn't do it for me. If it looked like the prototype show car's one, I'd be more interested.

I got the longer sill plates for my Winning Blue, and like 'em a lot. The stock sills are held on with plastic clips and maybe a couple small pieces of double-stick. The bigger ones are just the opposite: a couple of locating tabs, but mostly double-stick. Follow the directions, take your time and get it right the first time, and installation's quite simple.

i think they do attach using double sided tape, because my door sill came off after getting kicked too much and bending... though I thought they called them kick plates for a reason.

Stock ones do not attach with double sided tape.. they have plastic clips that go into pre-drilled holes..

I have the carbon fiber ones evo sells, I like them a lot.. they look good with the titanium gray.
