I recall it being debated early on about what direction the forum would take, and the majority chimed in saying we wanted nothing to do with it. Those that did want a kills section, I don't think really stuck around after that.
Just proactively clearing the air, as I'm sure someone, somewhere, was going to read this thread and infer we don't have a "kills" section because the RX-8 is such a dog . :rolleyes: |

That's a good point about the TT. Man are those overpriced for the performance return. Very nice interiors, though.

On an up-note. I saw a couple driving a '05 Mustang GT, and I waved at them and made nice comments about thier car. They said they had almost bought an 8 and the only thing that stopped them was the dealership reneging on the deal and rushing them into a different deal. We had a nice friendly Conversation and everyone was happy.

There are only four ways stock RSX-S and Celica GTS can out run an RX-8 from a redlight:
The RX-8 is an automatic, the RX-8 is loaded with passengers, the driver in the RX-8 makes an error (improper launch/shifts), or the most common case: the RX-8 owner doesn't even know he's in a race. |
I've never street raced the 8. Wonder how many times I've been considered a kill. I can think of a few instances where I'm sure I was, but probably many more and I never thought about it one way or another because it was from something like pick-up truck.

I've been to other forums and its amazing how different the people are.
But Guy does raise a good point... I hear many people rag on the 8.... but they leave cars the likes of the TT and Boxster alone.... makes no sense |
I own an 8 and won races against other RX-8's so does that mean I have a fast car? :confused: :confused:

I'd say that the majority of owners are older and are not really interested in racing. Sure people are interested in the development of RX8 racing, but there isn't much to look at up to now.
I find that the US crowds are bigger fans of cars than the Japanese crowd. Here in Japan, the only people who takes their cars to the next level are speed/power enthusiasts. Racing is popular here though I have not seen or heard any RX8s that are actively involved quite like the STIs, EVOs, Nissans (Silvias, Skylines, Z etc). People go with how much performance they can get out of their cars. Looks? Well that's for girls to judge ;) |
