I don't really care what other people think of my car. I didn't buy it for them.

All I care about is that I have found true love. My heart skips a beat when I look at her. Swooping through the turns is pure sex. The sound of the engine and the vibrations in the clutch pedal at 9k rpms is orgasmic. When I have to turn off the engine, it feels like post-coital depression.

Besides, I don't like cars that are too fast. The 8 is a proper lady. She does drink a lot, though.

I bought the car because I was passionate about it, I don't care what other ppl say because if I wanted to go fast in a straight line I would have bought... ah screw it... I have a rotary powered car and every else doesn't. Nor does their car look as good as mine does, and if it does they paid out the *** for it.

I'm not out to win races, I'm not out to show off... I'm out to enjoy something truely unique.

There are 3 mysteries in the known universe.

1. Why are poor people so fat.

2. Why human beings despise each other, if they see that someone else has just slightly more, or just slightly less material possessions.

3. Why do people say "rx8 slow".

These are all unsolvable mysteries, but #3 happens when I go rx8clubbing. Never seen it happen in real life, no passenger never said that. Hell, you can tell rx8 fast just by looking at it! You can tell most cars fast/slow just by looking at them, it's a reality.

I will leave you all with an impression. Take a look at the two most famous car enthusiast in the world. Jermey Clarkson and Jay Leno. Lots of rich, lots of every cars, but look what happen to their body.

rx8 always faithful to me, always look good, always put out. Hope it get faster with age. Marriage just don't get better than that. Don't be inconsiderate and just let your body go to fat waste on the couch, like a sloth husband.

Well there's your problem... you don't associate with people who know about cars and own fast cars. Therefore, you don't know much about cars and you don't own a fast car.

That'll be $5. Cash, check or charge?

I was driving yesterday, and the "2 to 1" ratio came to mind that was already brought up. Meaning, 2 cars slower for every 1 car faster. And as I drove around and looked at all the cars, I have to say, it's a lot higher than 2 to 1. More like 250 to 1.

Though I don't like it, I've come to acknowledge my 8 is what it is.

Sometimes I look back (back when I had choices between the 8 or g35) and I always think I made the right choice. I had a great time in high school with my car...a very GREAT time.

Besides that, I beat most ********. Trucks that think they are the **** and riced up cars that think they are the ****.

Sometimes, I get those mustangs, eclipses, and Zs that follow me around for whatever reason and I when we enter those curves, they just can't keep up.

I love the fact this car handles great and that I can push the rpm upwards of 6-7k without any problems.

stratus is around the average rx8 driver, low 15's quarter mile.

So in conclusion, your car is slow
Uh, I don't think the OP is talking about the 2008 Camry V6 w/ >250 hp. The typical Camry without the optional engine is slow.

the only people that have told me the car is slow are the people that think drag racing is the end-all of racing and can't be bothered to try and run through a twisty course.

I got told my car was slow just yesterday...

By an SRT-4 owner...

We were both heading to a very upscale golf course...

So I had to let him know.. They'll be waiting to help me get my bag out of the car... and they'll just think you're the new janitor showing up late, as you were probably watching WAY too much Fast and the Furious...

God those things are terrible...

And the 8 holds its own in almost any parking lot... case closed!

Some dude in his I think 350z wanna race me. nah I dont street race.

I just keep driving and mind my own business, I barely even use my brakes, just kept it at around 70 most of the time.

Its just that after I made a turn @ 80 mph, then he stopped trying to catch up again. rofl.

His car seems to be heavily modded too. but ahhh, who cares. my HiperMax alone pwned him

Or when you and a friend pull into a gas station with your 8s, and while checking the oil, a dad brings his 2 young boys over all wide-eyed to look at the 'cool cars up close'.

Or the amazed double-take the salesman/accountant in the BMW does as you both drive past out of the station.

Or the two early teens that sprint across the corner parking lot to get ahead of you on the next road so they can wave and cheer you as you drive past.

Or the middle-aged chick riding passenger in the 360 Modena next to you looking over your car with a smile, prompting the driver of said 360 to drop the hammer in jealousy.

Or the notes you get tucked under your windshield wipers commenting on how awesome your car is.

Or the boss saying "I'm paying you way too much" every time he sees you get into or out of your 8 next to his mid 90s Gallant, never mind you paid less than $20k.

Or the fact that it is the Jeremy Clarkson's #3 best ever.

...yeah sure. It lacks some torque. But there is obviously more to this car than 1/4 mile. Too bad your car has nothing more to it than the 1/4 mile.

I saw this old lady next to me revving her "engine" at a stop light. She called my 8 slow. I was pissed so I said, "lets race granny! Time to get pwn'd!".. So we raced until the next stop light and she won. But I noticed afterwards, she was on foot..

0-60 in 5.9 sec is not slow. Sure there's faster but how fast do you have to go? Most people I see driving 8's are too busy enjoying the car to be drag racing. Many also have no idea how to launch from a light in a high reving machine. The 8 is a sweet ride. Seems most posters here do not want to drag race and stress their baby. We love the slow and easy until a good curve comes along.

LOL SO TRUE just a while back i meeting up some friends at a gas station, and conveniently a bunch of the local street racers were their. not the typical ricer croud. the upper class of street racers. corvettes, ss camaros, and even a gallardo! we have a few babies, gtis a lightning and gto. and out of no where a piece of sh*t looking srt4 pulls up with a un bearably loud exhaust, looking like it was about to break down, and 2 huge black guys and 4 asian kids pop out of the car....my jaws dropped. srt4= looked down upon

Nothing wrong with either approach. Some rx8 driver only like to drive fast on "curve" mode. I only like to drive rx8 fast in a straight line. In summary, rx8 offer something for everyone. Lots of handling and lots of power, and lots of style for people who just don't care about all that and just do AT.

The real problem is not "who say rx8 slow", but "how to stop looking down at non-rx8 car".

I cannot hold back my disdain, selfish stuck-up attitude, and sneering bs toward all truck, suv, and sedan. I don't know why, I just have a habit to call them slow. And look down at them for no good reason. I cannot accept them as legitimate methods of transportation.

It gets worse. Certain makes of vehicle are on my "hit list". All "mustang", all "miata", all "monster truck" and all "such and such" get on my nerve and turn me on. Then, logical reasoning just escape me for whatever reason, and I turn into "rotary logic" modes.

Sometimes I just need to take a break, look into the mirror, and realize the rotary demons taking over control. So much power, so easy. Too easy to get lost and corrupted, and burn up in flames as a result. Like a meteor falling to earth, except with 4 rubber wheels.
