Does anyone else get annoyed when their car is called "slow"?

Seriously.
Before you begin to give credit to a bunch of wastes of human flesh who want nothing more in life than to become something even remotely close to what's shown in some second rate movie about street racing, take even half a moment and ask yourself, do i really care about what some uninformed assclown thinks?
Second, when you begin worrying about "your quarter mile time?", "how fast you can get to 60?", "Can i beat this guy at the light next to me in the Honda?" you are doing nothing more than placing yourself at the same level as those guys and you may as well resign your life to just not being "worthy enough", put a bullet in your head and tell your family to use your remains as kitty litter or pothole filler.
Third, if you want performance, STOCK isn't your answer. Bit the bullet, invest about $10k in aftermarket parts or do as "The Dom" says... yo.
Coming from a former BUILT Evo VIII owner, I can assure you our beloved RX-8 is in fact SLOW. I moved from my built Evo to a Mazdaspeed 3, which was also much quicker than our 8. Yet, I sold both of those cars and returned to our rotary. Why? Because you can't deny how absolutely sexy and fun this car is. The 8 takes the nod in the looks department hands down. The rotary is amazing and completely different than anything else out there. This car is pure sex and though she may not be the fastest car on the road, you will NOT find anything else out there that is as unique and exciting as our RX-8. So, next time someone says it's slow, just smile and walk away with your head held high. You are rocking one of the coolest niche cars ever produced.
I really dont get called slow all that much, and Ive noticed that most of the people that call my car slow or make fun of it are driving a shitty looking old beat up mustang or camaro thats running 11's. Sure, with the 19 G's I spent on my 8, I couldve invested 10K and bought a decent camaro, dumped 9 grand into it and had a drag racing monster; but wheres the fun in that. People are different and to each there own, so Im not knocking on muscle cars or drag cars; but I prefer something different in return for my investment other that fast quarter mile passes, thats just me though

I get annoyed when anyone who is jealous of me tells me just how jealous they are of me by trying to find something wrong with me or my toys.
PS - This has never happened with my RX-8 in real life. Everyone has been hella cool. My 8 is loved

The 8 is not slow. A Toyota Tercel would be considered slow. It's not as fast as a Evo, or a Corvette, but it's not slow. The 8 is somewhere in the middle. But with the looks and handling as good as they are, nothing else matters.
I had a drunk fat *** pair of 19 year old pseudo-twins call my 8 slow...

people always calls the rx8 slow because they arent as fast as the rx7.. and they seemt o call it HEAVY! because it looks big.. when in fact it only weighs about 150 pounds more than the s2k...
My car makes me happy. most people well in my crew are starting to love the 8 because its sexy, good handling, and its comfortable.. some even sadi if i had the money id buy one...
Coarse i dont take thier judgment worth anything they do drive hatchback with GSr engines swaps..
and they also like the s2k

Seriously On the internet all I read is people saying stuff like "The car is slow" or "it's not worth it cause the car get's beat all the time" and I just have to think to myself .............. are you people kidding??? This is the fastest car I have ever owned, and ridden in period. On the Northway if there aren't any car's around I can push it to 150MPH and a couple in change. Would you call that slow??? How many other car's can top out at 150? I don't know maybe in the world you guys live in everyone else is driving ferrari's, and other stuff but here in my world (Upstate New York) the only other car's I see that are a serious threat are the high end luxury cars like Porsche, Higher end BMW's (7 series) and stuff like that, and the people who own them AREN'T paying the same price for their car as I did for mine, and in most cases I know my car would smoke them on some of the windier roads up here.
The fact is although people might tell me my car is slow, I refuse to believe it, Slow is my Mom's Toyota Camry or my sister's dodge stratus. I mean yeah i want a supercharger or turbo some day but that's not because the car is slow right now, hell I very very RARELY use the speed that the car has! It's just because I'm a guy and want to go faster than 155MPH, which is the fastest I've ever been in a car by the way.

Yeah the car is slow when compared to a Bugatti Veryon but when it comes to the car's that I deal with around here (Bloated Rustangs, and the occasional 350z) it's not slow at all, and i think it gets an unfair rep.

ummm maybe I live somewhere else but yeah the car is slow from a dig from a roll from anywhere. Don't get me wrong I love my car and wouldn't think of owning anything else right now but yeah it's still slow. my 2 cents.

well if it makes you feel any better I rebuild your motors all day and get into my also "slow" 300zx. people think there fast but its a non turbo and is pretty slow, it pulls a little on the highway but its still slow. Its not like everyone drives around full throttle anyways. I like my car for the looks and uniqueness and you guys/girls should also. its different, its not a car everyone owns and makes you seperate from the regulars out there.

Some of the San Diego crew had this discussion over lunch at Sevenstock. My response to people asking if my car is fast or telling me that it's slow is simply "it's fast in the mountains" with a big stupid grin on my face. That's the way I like it and the others seemed to agree.

when someone says your car is slow, negatively (e.g. ricers, rusted up stangs, etc...) they are usually just jealous. your rx8 is faster around the turns, more elegant, more sporty, more luxurious, just better in every single way, but that straight run.
when someone says your car is slow, positively, they know its slow, but can appreciate it for everything else about it that makes it unique and amazing.

However I think it's more of 3/4th of people who don't own an RX8
But our cars are FAST around a track.
Its kinda like, do you want just a triple cheeseburger (acceleration), or do you want a double cheeseburger with fries and a drink (whole package).
