Just keep in mind that because the car handles so well up to its limits you will be going much faster when you cross those limits than in most cars. That being true, things can go wrong much more quickly if you let the 8 seduce you into stupidity.

To summarize many good posts on this thread...

The RX-8 is easy to adjust to as a daily driver. At the same time it is significantly more capable than 90% of all drivers. (Of course everyone here is in that top 10%, but I know I'm not!) This capability can seduce you (me) into thinking you're (I'm) a better driver than you (I) are (am). What???

In short, this sucka's only dangerous if you let it seduce you into driving stupidly. If you control your worst instincts it's one of the safest vehicles on the road. Now if it would just stop snowing, I could do a few more redline runs! <BEEEEP> :D
