Do our 8's have weak heaters???
I purchased an 04 about a month ago. I took it back to the dealership within a week since the heater seamed to never blow actual "hot" air but instead it blew just a little warmer than normal temp. I was informed that the heater is fine. It is supposed to not actually get really warm like every other car ive ever been in..is this a know weakness? Also the air blowing in through the drivers side vent is colder than the air coming out of the center vents

Nah I don't think so... If i turn mine all the way to the heat side then before long it will be blowing out uncomfortably hot air haha.
Do you usually have it set to recirculate or to bring in new air?

First, u do know that your car needs to be in the operating temperature in order for heater to work right ?
wait till the temp gauge on ur dash reach 1/2 way.
oh you have a 04? have your AC amplifier ever been replaced ? If not then you might have a problem
I be nice today

if it has been replaced, then u should start checking your HVAC controls function, do a search.
Cuz my 8, even at 21 degrees yesterday, blows hot air, so hot that I have to turn it off and open my windows.
wait till the temp gauge on ur dash reach 1/2 way.

Cool, thanks for the feedback guys! Yes I know it has to be at operating temp for hot air. I can be driving for 30 minutes with it at op temp and still barely warm. I have it on circulating air, if I try and bring in new air, its super cold. I have a feeling a trip to the dealer is in store. I have a warranty on it so thats good Thanks for the info everyone

This is one step to eliminate in your trouble shooting. Give you an edge on the dealer too.
I hope I remember this right. I did it to MM's car a couple weeks ago. I'll blame it on old age if I'm wrong.
Turn ignition to ON position. Turn on radio. Press and hold the radio ON/OFF button down and then depress SCAN up button. Radio display should change and display the word TEMP and a number between 0-16. 0 being cold and 16 being hot.
Rotate the temp control **** from cold to hot and the number value in the display should change.
If the number does not change during this procedure then the problem is in the temp control ****.
Try lifting upwards on the **** as you turn it. Just a little pressure upwards. See if it works then.

Yeah I had the same problem with my old ones, I think they just naturally take long to heat up. My brothers car heats up almost instantly. What you can do is get one of those little cigaret lighter car heaters to help with the initial cold start.

i think the heat is very good to above average! the only real issue i have is that when selected to the "feet" or "defrost and feet" position, the foot heater blows more so on my shins rather than my feet and my feet stay cold when driving the car.. not a fan of that really.
