Do Mazda dealerships always take this long??

[rant]

So I had to put my baby in the shop last wednesday to have the clutch replaced. It only has 50k miles on it, but whatever. They told me it would be done (last) Friday, then Friday came along and they said it would be Monday (today), but then today I called and its still not done. This time they double promised me it would be done tomorrow, and I swear to god if its not finished by tomorrow im burning down their freakin shop.

did they not have the clutch in stock???
That's the ONLY reason I can think of that it would take that long.

Well things do take time when the techs are not rushing and there are a few cars to go through on first come first served.

Personally, my trans rebuild + Oil pan gasket took from Tuesday morning to Monday evening with special parts order. All in all it was done well with extensive parts replacement. And the loaner 2007 Mazda 3 wasn't a bad car either.

Better slow than sorry.

it depends on how *good* the dealerships are.

usually it takes no more than 2 days for in stock parts to go to a dealership.

If they promised your car would be ready by a certain time, they need to make good on it. My advice, go back to the service advisor and tell him you want to talk to the service manager. Be polite but firm. Tell them this is causing you inconvenience. Can they provide you with a rental? Do they want to keep you as a customer or should you take your business elsewhere in the future? I work at a dealership. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.........Good luck...

Doesnt surprise me. Dealership service centers are businesses. All bout making money, warranty work takes a back seat. They suck, thank God i hav only had to get warranty work done once....knock on wood.
Debodave, i can almost guarantee ur car hasnt moved since u dropped it off...it MIGHT be inside the shop by now and not sitting in the lot.
They didnt have the clutch in stock, told u to bring the car in prior to them ordering it (or on the same day), and have been waiting for the clutch to arrive; which i assure you they had sent to them as cheap as possible meaning 5-7 business days. Keep calling and bitchin.

My 4206-f recall took 3 days.
My 3rd and 4th gear replacement took 2 weeks
