Is this a Design Flaw?
 

What was Mazda thinking when they designed THIS.

I should note that I was taking the wiper off when I discovered this. The last time I took it off (for installing the 4pt bar) I didnt have a hood on so it was not an issue.

But basically, you close the hood, say bai bai to your wiper arm.

why would you lift up the wiper arm when your hood is open like that?

Seriously, you have to lift the wiper arm to remove it. The hood was up, I was lazy, and I tryed to remove it that way. Hence, the discovery of Mazda's only design flaw.

The seat warmer buttons are a design flaw. And do rattles count?

THe seat warmers are positioned so that you can convienently turn them on or off with your elbow. No need to go through the annoying, not to mention, dangerous, motion of removing your hand from the shift lever.

Rattles let your know the car is in motion. The engine is soooo smooth, it would be hard to tell otherwise. (allowing that you dont look out the window often.)

the front cup holders are a design flaw too.

The seat luke-warmers themselves are a design flaw, not the switch for them.

Holy carp!! No wonder I keep snapping off my dadburn wipers! I keep lifting them when I'm checking my oil. I've gone through at least 30 pair of wipers. I feel so stupid. :Freak_ani

They weren't ment to keep the hood proped up. :mdrmed:

When I read the title of this thread, I thought it was something that might of been of significance. On my 8, the wipers break off if I lift the wipers more than 90 degrees with the hood closed.

The seat warmers work GREAT!! Even when it's REALLY REALLY cold like 35F!

Mine heat up pretty well. Assuming my arm doesn't keep switching them off whenever I shift.

The integrated head unit is most definitely a design flaw.

You can also break the wipers if you raise them up and lift up the hood. That's also a design flaw. Where does it end?

How are you people shifting? Everybody keeps complaining about how they accidentally turn off their seat warmers with their elbows when they shift. I don't think that I could do that, even if I tried. When I'm shifting, my elbow is a good six inches over the buttons. Maybe its just because I'm so super tall (5'10", thank you very much).

I do think that the rocker switches are kind of lame, though. They should just be one touch on/off so that the seat warmers automatically reset to off when the car is turned off.

My warmers are plenty warm for me. They seem to get about body temperature. But I do live in Dallas. The experience of Northerners may vary.
