Dentless!!!!!!!

A while back I was somewhat despondent over several dents in my new '05 8 caused by items falling of a shelf in the garage. Stew suggested I try a paintless dent repair facility. I did and they did the job! Actually, the guy came to my house and spent maybe an hour on my car. Now I really cannot tell where those dent were...and this only cost me $85.00!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Stew!

Yeah I've got one directly above the drivers side door handle. Even though I make it a point to always park far enough away from others,I came out of the store to find it a few weeks back. I may try one of these Dent Wizard places here locally.

The guy is Steve Worman. He is a certified paintless dent repair technician who offers mobile service. He is located in Tallahassee, Florida. Telephone: 850-545-8800. Check the ones out in your area. Some of these guys really know their stuff. I am so relieved that those dents no longer exist!

I think paintless repair is AWESOME!

This fall, I unwittingly parked my car for the day under a big oak tree. When I came back about 10 hours later, as I was walking up, I saw an acorn drop from the tree - I was like, "Oh, crap!"

I immediately inspected and found about 25 quarter-sized dents all over the hood, roof, and trunk. Like hail damage!

I submitted a claim to State Farm and they hooked me up with my local body repair guy. He doesn't do paintless, but I asked him to look into it. He called State Farm and they put him in touch with a Dentbusters guy who came out and fixed my car as a subcontractor.

When I got it back, I couldn't believe it! It is just exactly like new. No one will ever know any of the dents were there! I've even forgotten where some of them were.

I don't have photos (sorry), but I thought a few of them would require paint. There was one on the hood at the edge of the rotor-effect (it's hard to describe - you know the trough where the water dances in the rain) and a couple on the edge of the roof over the driver's door. It's like they were never there.

I highly recommend paintless repair. These guys did a great job on my car.

They are truely amazing. I've been lucky so far to go 18 months totally ding-free on my yellow beast, but I know it's just a matter of time. I've had fantastic luck with Paintless repair - everything from a hail-dented roof and hood on a car with more than 60 dents in each location (about $1000 of a repair) to a single door ding (dead center in the door panel on my bright red Acura), and as bad as a completely caved-in driver's side door where some dork in a suburban backed into my Acura TL. All done to amazing results - the door was the craziest one - dent was 2-1/2" deep and was nearly 15" long and 8" tall and OVER the crease in the door. He worked it out - took him a day and $175.

Honestly, I don't know how those guys make money because they charge so little, but I sure do go to them first with any body damage that doesn't involve paint breakage.

I can vouch for the techniques, and for DentWizard. The 8 hasn't had the need for it yet, but the Miata I had saw them twice over 5 years... every time, it was like looking at a brand-new car. They erase the slings and arrows of time, within reason of course

IIRC, the techniques were born in the Midwest, primarily Oklahoma. Hail country, you see.

Any suggestions for those of us not fortunate to live in an area where there is a Dent Wizard? Does that "pops-a-dent" thing on TV work? Anyone try it?

Thanks!

I use the Dent docter alot in New Orleans. It makes me mad that you go out of your way to stay away from funky cars that dont give a **** but they still park next to you out of the way. This is mustang and truck country down here

DO NOT use one of those ding king things you see on T.V! It pops the dent out and sometimes pulls it out too far leaving and inside out dent. This happened to me when I used it on my truck. If you don't have a dent remover person nearby, make the long drive to a city.
