DECISION 06 shinka Or 40th anniv

well as some of u read a few months ago i totally abolished my 06 shinka off a cliff in january, now ive been looking for a new SE 8 to replace my old one

so im in a pickle here

its between

a 06 shinka i found for 19000 msrp with 25000 miles.

or

a 40th anniversary ive talked the price down a little below 30000.
but im really aiming for 28000.(note: any tips on how to get it a little lower would be nice)

sooo i test drove the 40th anniv. and i gotta say the interior is amazing and so are the rims , the shifter is diffrent than my old shinka in the fact its alot shorter ,i like it.

but the 06 shinka ive always LOVED the cream interior and for the price tag it has is less than what i got my old shinka for and im sure it can be brought down .

im gonna go see the shinka tomorrow

i wanna know your guys' opinion.

aside from me not deserving another 8

cause god knows ive heard that alot on here

and i thought about waiting for the 09and realized i dont really like how it looks like . nor do i wanna pay the new price tag that the dealers will shove on it and how stubborn they will be about lowering it. ( not a fan of the new look, since theres no real changes in the motor not to excited about it)

I voted the 40th Anny, as I enjoy the way it looks with the Rims and the nifty badges around

06 with 25K miles for 19K ? get out of here. I pay them 16 the most.

You can get the 40th down to 28K, u have to get some $ from another dealer, let them know that they Cant rip you off, then u can have it.

09 has some update to the engine, not to increase power, but more like to increase the life of the engine. Plus the Transmission will be different, Aisin made some changes and lets just hope that it will last longer than the current piece of **** Aisin.

40th ann. personally, I don't like any of the new things that were added to it.

Badges .......... suck

Stirring wheel ........suck

Rims .................. burned them

This is one time , I say old is better than the new ......... just my 2cents.

40th for the new shocks. (unless you're gonna change them out anyway, then i don't care.)

unrelated comment to poster above:
09's tranny is mazda not aisin, right? (09's do have several minor changes, which I think, add up to a decent improvement)

How much would it cost to add comparable goodies to the Shinka to match what you like in the 40th? Assuming your price difference stays around $11K, that's a lot of room for upgrades.

And try not to destroy this one, ok? :-)

I like the 40th ann. better because of the shocks that come standard on the car. That's pretty much the difference between the shinka and the 40th ann.

Im not sure what kind of Blistein shocks they have on the 40th, but generally speaking Blistein shocks are pretty *soft*.

The Tokico on this car aint that bad, but I gotta drive the 40th to be able to tell the differents.

and now Im on HiperMax III & still trying to play with the settings ... who has a 40th Annver. version for me to test drive

And you don't want to get a new-ish model the moment it comes out when there's a good probability of annoying bugs/teething problems.

I voted for the 40th. I suspect the 8 suffers more than ordinary cars from owner neglect (even little things like not keeping the oil level up, not warming it up fully before pushing it, etc.), so I'd avoid a used one unless I knew the driver.
