Smile Dear RX-8 owners/ forum,

I would like to take this time to really thank all of you guys. You guys made this community what it is today. If it wasnt for this forum, owning this car would have been a nightmare.

I bought my car a year and a half ago, and I've loved every minute that i've owned this car. Never once regretted purchasing this car. I remember when i first saw this car on the lot, i was debating in my head for 3 HRS!! on whether i should get a 04 Mustang GT or a 04 Mazda Rx-8. I remember my car salesman and almost all the supervisiors standing there waiting for me to make my decision, even though the dealership had been closed for an hr. already. I remember hesitating a little to sign the papers, but once we walked out, and i saw my salesman put a "SOLD" paper on the dashboard. I walked away very happy and confident in my desicion.

Once I got home I found this forum and starting reading everything I could about owning this car. I'm glad i did. Because the only thing i knew about this car was that it had a rotary engine, and i didnt even know how they worked. So i read a few great threads to learn the basics then when ever i had a question i simply logged on and got an answer quickly and accuratley.

I'm extremely grateful to have bought this car and to have a great set of people to back it up. The fact that people take time out of their own lives to post what they have learned and done is simply awesome. Just look at all those DIY and other topics that people have loaded up with information. Everybody even comments with tips, opinions and other great ideas. And provides help to others who are in desperate need, adding on to the enormous mountain of Knowledge. If it wasnt for this forum i would have no clue how to do a sea foam cleaning, or change my lights to HID's, or even know to redline once a day.

As far as what i think about the car, well, it's a hard thing to describe. The only word i can really think of to describe it, is UNIQUE. The engine is unique, the handling is unique, the design , sound, redline, engine size to power output is unique, the amount of passengers it can hold and the fact that it has a freestlye door is unique. I love everything about this car. and quite frankly i wouldnt trade this car or even sell it for anything or any amount of money. It's my first car that i bought, that I have taken care of and have put alot of time, money into it. I really do plan on keeping this car until i die. It might need like 4 or 5 engine replacements and I do have lots of plans for it so many parts wont be original but the true spirit of the car will remain the same.

You guys are probably wondering why I'm writing this, and there honestly is so special reason. I just felt like expressing myself to you guys, and to thank you guys for everything. Also just to let you guys know I'll be leaving for the Air Force so I'll be MIA for about 3 months. but once i start to settle in and get situated i plan on transforming my car. Well thank you guys for reading.

I still consider myself new to the rotary game, and I agree with all the great things you had to say.

Your appreciation and positive spirit also contribute in making this forum a very warm and welcoming place to be around.

Good choice! After my first RX-8 was totalled I bought a 04 Mustang GT. I enjoyed it and modded it. It put down 298whp and wasn't slow(by my standards anyway) but after six months I traded it for another RX-8.

While the Mustang was easily faster in a straight line the RX-8 was more fun to drive in a straight line if that makes sense. And curves, no contest. The RX-8 just felt more like a sports car and I missed that. The Mustang was a good car and I plan to get another one day, just not as a replacment for the 8.

Good reading SC!
I was sort of in the same boat. I was looking at the 8 when it first arrived, but I ended up getting an FC turbo instead lol. Since that day, I've looked longingly at every 8 that went by...
Hope you enjoy another many great years with your car, and good luck with training!
