Dealer not paying for rental car?!?!

They gave me an appointment at 1pm. went there at 12:30. got picked up, they didnt look at the car until 4. told me nothing was wrong with it. i insisted they look at the check engine codes, they told me they need it over night and i needed a car so they told me to go rent a car and they arent going to pay for it!!! whats up with that? no loaner. I typically pay for the rental and then get reimbursed *IF* the vehicle is covered under warranty. Perhaps this is what the dealer is attempting to convey?

i have a 2005 manual 8 with 17000 miles on it. there is a miss fire code and two evap valve leaking codes. they told me if they cover it under warranty they will fix it, but since i have a cat back exhaust they arent covering the rental car. can an exhaust cause that?
im covered under warranty till november of 09
