cracked windshield needs replaced (help with who to do it)
hello, so i have a 3 foot crack in my windshield. obviously it needs replaced. i was searching online and found a couple people that will come to your work or home and replace it. however ive never had any experience with any of the companies that do so. i know of "Safelite" and that they seem to be responsible. however i stumbled upon "windshieldstogo.com" and they are cheaper and accept more forms of paymet. has anyone had any experience with "windshieldstogo.com" and/or know of any other places that can do mobile windshield repair? thanks!

Curious, have you checked with your insurance company? Many insurance companies cover glass replacement with no deductible, even if your normal comprehensive deductible is greater than $0. If you haven't talked to them, then don't assume it won't be covered for free unless you like throwing away money.
I've had 2 windshields replaced and ~13-15 chips/cracks repaired across 5 cars in 10 years. Have never paid a dime.
Usually it's been Safelite, though I have a brother-in-law that used to work for them and hates them and how they do things, though mainly it's things transparent to the customer (other than glass, no pun intended there), like how they try to run out independant companies. The smaller companies will compete better for your business, but it's hard to deny Safelite's coverage.

I have an ex brother in law who works for Safelite. He's always done mine with no issues.
I once had a group of teenagers on a rampage break every window in my truck (I was one of 6 in my development and one of over 20 that night). I had to pay the deductible (Nationwide at the time).
They never caught them.

I've been with State farm now for 22 years and never once have i had to pay for my windshield to be replaced. I've done 2 with my 8, had 2 done on my tiburon i had before my 8, 1 on the 94 ranger i used as a beater when i first got my 8, my wife's civic last year... damn... i think every car i've owned i've had the windshield replaced. not counting what i've mentioned here, that's at least 4 other cars.
If that's how Geiko works, i'd tell them to **** off and die screaming in a fire. Switch to State Farm. You won't be disappointed.

Geico's glass coverage is optinal. Meaning u can choose to pay or opt out
If u didnt pay for it, obviously it will not be covered(deductible)
But keep in mind like all insurance companies, they will use the cheapest way to get ur stuff fixed. Glass is one of them, if there is an aftermarket glass, they will only pay for that, if u want oe glass, then u have to pay for the difference.
I had to file a claim because my glass was leaking, and i want oe glass so i had to pay for the difference.
Aftermarket glass cost 170 bux, oe almost 700
