Well, I just checked my 8, and there is indeed a protective film approximately where Charles Cope is reporting a crack... I never saw it before because most of the film is covered by my appearance pkg flair.

Yes, stupid fits the bill. I here by admit that I've allowed you all to spend too much time, dealing with the village idiot. My "problem" is no more, because... you were all right and I was wrrrrrong. Phew, what a relief! I should have trusted you and Mazda. My 8 has been pretty much flawless, other than the squeaky brakes that I hope will be fixed, Monday night.

Feel free to flame me in whatever manner you feel is appropriate!

Charlie Cope, the wrong guy.

it's ok that you're pig headed and stuborn...thats what us rx-8 owners are all like until proven other wise :D (j/k) But now you know to trust your fellow owners. Everyone makes mistakes, and even if they do insist they are right, it's ok to be wrong...as long as you admit to it, which you clearly have. You shouldn't be flammed at all-it's ok to be wrong..just dont let it happen again.. :p

(didn't i say i was keeping my 2 cents out of this? oops..i lied..)

Same here... I just checked mine to verify it's really the protective film. I never noticed either because of the aero kit.

OK, it's not a crack. This is getting silly - closing.
