insurance is a lot cheaper than cars like the 350Z, S2000, RSX Type S etc. but still talk to your agent. highway mileage is pretty good on this car. it drops in the city. since you are driving 78 miles/day on the freeway and only 2 miles in the city, I wouldn't be too worried about it. My car gets about 23-25 on the freeway which I think is fine.

Im 21 single, and Im doing 2700 a year, woot woot! but alot less than a wrx.

the 23-25 on the freeway would be lovely, since that is about what I am getting right now. But I am keeping my expetations low.

I also have hope that COBB will have fuel saving on their accessport, because I know they were adding 2mpg to a wrx.

I have State Farm, and they classify my RX-8 as a 4-door sedan, resulting in cheap insurance. They made a point of making sure it wasn't a Shinka. I don't know how much extra that is, but my agent said it would be significantly higher. They must think it is like a GT in Mustang terms...

Fine by me! I will be driving a 1.3 liter 4door. But for a 1.3 it sure does get shitty mileage. But for a 230hp car, it gets perfect mileage.

Insurance companies can be real stupid sometimes. All they have to do is look at the Mazda website to determine that the shinka is not much different from the "regular" GT.

I had almost a $2000 6-month premium with Geico on my first few insurance terms. When I turned 25, had a garage, etc. etc. it did nothing to lower the premium. This was with government employee's discount, clean driving record 6 years, no tickets or accidents. So eventually I wised up to the gecko and now have $600 premium with a lower deductible for collision and comprehensive, with the same coverage limits as I had with Geico. Something seems to be screwed up with their system. I was a fool for believing their marketing ads in the first place.
